THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against BJP state president K Surendran for hoisting the national flag upside down. The action was taken in the name of showing disrespect to the national flag on Independence Day. The case was registered by the Thiruvananthapuram Museum Police on a complaint by CPM Palayam area committee member R Pradeep.

A case has been registered against some other bystanders who attended the function. The museum police said they would take further action on the complaint after examining the footage related to the incident. On Sunday morning, K Surendran had unfurled the Tricolour upside down at the BJP state committee office in Thiruvananthapuram. He rectified the goof-up soon after.
