Negligence on pilot's part caused Karipur plane crash, states probe report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation report states that it was the fault of the pilot that caused the Karipur plane crash. The plane landed just after halfway down the runway. The plane skidded off the runway and to the sides. Despite warnings, it went too fast. The report also states that there was a leak in the fuel tank.

The Air India Express crashed about three kilometers from the terminal on the east side of the runway. The tragedy left 21 people dead and 96 seriously injured. 73 people escaped with minor injuries.
