THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A tearful adieu to the versatile actor Nedumudi Venu, who passed away yesterday. His body was cremated at Shanthikavadam with full state honours.
Thousands thronged to have a last glimpse of the actor. Many from the film and cultural fields paid homage to the body kept at the Ayyankali Hall. The public homage ended at 12.30 pm. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Speaker M B Rajesh, Ministers V Sivankutty, Saji Cherian, Ahamed Devarkovil, KPCC chief K Sudhakaran and many others paid homage to the departed soul.
Actors Vineeth, Manian Pillai Raju, Madhupal and producer Suresh Kumar accompanied the body to the Ayyankali Hall. Superstars Mammotty and Mohanlal reached Venu’s house in Vattiyoorkavu late last night and paid homage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences to the actor via twitter.
The thespian passed away last afternoon. He was 73. He was admitted to a private hospital following liver related ailments.
