Koottikkal landslide; limb obtained with body not of Alan’s, DNA test to be conducted

KOTTAYAM: Ten deaths were confirmed in the landslide at Koottikkal and six in Kokkayar. Four children were among the dead in Kokkayar. One more has to be found again.

A search will continue today at Plappally in Koottikkal. The doctors who performed the post-mortem found that the leg obtained with the body of the 12-year-old boy belonged to an adult. A DNA test will be conducted. It was in this context that the suspicion arose that one more person had been buried in this area. With this, the search was intensified again.

Reports said four people died in Plappally. The bodies of Sonia (46), Alan, Panthalattil Sarasamma Mohanan (58) and Roshni (50) were recovered. The funeral of Martin and his family will be held today at Kavali Church.
