Kerala records 18,123 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 8 deaths; 150 deaths included as per central directive

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 18,123 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 17,627 persons developed the disease through contact, including 234 cases without an identified source of infection. 113 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 149 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

4749 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,03,864 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 8 deaths due to the virus on Sunday and 150 deaths were included as per central directive with the toll rising to 50,832.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Thiruvananthapuram 3917, Ernakulam 3204, Thrissur 1700, Kozhikode 1643, Kottayam 1377, Pathanamthitta 999, Kollam 998, Palakkad 889, Malappuram 821, Alappuzha 715, Kannur 649, Idukki 594, Wayanad 318, Kasaragod 299.

59,314 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
