Woman injured in husband’s acid attack dies, daughter in serious condition

AMBALAVAYAL: A 32-year-old woman who was attacked with acid by her husband died at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. She has been identified as Lijitha of Iritty in Kannur. She died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Lijitha and her daughter faced the acid attack on January 15. They were attacked at Ambalavayal in Wayanad. Her husband Sanil Kumar (38) was behind the attack. Kumar who fled from the spot in a bike later committed suicide by jumping before the train. The couple’s daughter Alakananda (10) who sustained serious injuries is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Lijitha, estranged from her husband was running a shop near Fantom Rock in Ambalavayal.
