THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An agreement has been reached at the leadership level to increase the number of KPCC secretaries from 40 to 45. The change comes in the wake of a proposal from the High Command to increase the representation of dalits and women. Among the secretaries, ten will be from the Dalit and women's sections. The last round of talks on this is continuing at the leadership level.

At the same time, the challenge for the leadership is to get 45 out of the 200 names received. The KPCC received the draft list of DCC office bearers from all the districts yesterday evening. Thiruvananthapuram district was the last to hand over the list.

In large districts 25 and in small districts 15 office bearers are to be appointed but in each district, the list contains 150 to 200 persons. A two-day scrutiny of various aspects, including whether the criteria set by the KPCC President have been met is being carried out. KPCC general secretary TU Radhakrishnan, who is in charge of the organization, is on leave as his daughter's wedding was held yesterday. Jayanth, another KPCC general secretary, is assisting in the scrutiny.

K Sudhakaran will leave for Thrissur today to attend the wedding of TU Radhakrishnan's daughter. From there he will go to Kannur and return to Thiruvananthapuram on the 12thn after which further talks will be held. The KPCC secretaries and DCC office bearers will be announced within a week.
