THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains have been predicted in the state today also. There are chances of thunderstorms and strong winds. South and Central Kerala will receive more rainfall. Yellow alert has been declared in seven districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki.
Authorities have warned fishermen not to venture into the sea as there is a possibility of winds to blow at a speed of 30-60 kilometres per hour. Extreme caution should be exercised in low lying areas, riverbanks and landslide prone areas in case of continuous rains.
Thunderstorms are expected from 2 pm onwards. Avoid standing or working in the open during thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of power lines to break. If this is noticed should inform KSEB (No 1912) or District Disaster Management Authority (1077).
