MALAPPURAM: Two girls on a scooter were thrashed brutally in the midst of the road for questioning over speeding. The incident happened at Panambra in Malappuram. C H Ibrahim Shabeer of Thiroorangadi was seen slapping one of the sisters.

The incident happened on April 16 on the national highway in Panambra. Asna K Aziz and Hamna K Aziz of Karingallathani in Parappanagad were thrashed brutally. They were going home from Kozhikode. An over speeded car overtook them on the left side. The girls then honked and moved forward and enraged over it, Ibrahim got out of the car and slapped the girl riding the scooter without any provocation. The youth was seen slapping the woman several times and later got into his car and left when the locals intervened. All these were captured by a youth.

The girls who sustained injuries had sought treatment at the Tirurangadi hospital. The girls had lodged a complaint with the police but the case was registered in the name of a minor charge. The girls said though it was a murder attempt it was not written in the complaint. They said the youth came behind them to knock them down. The girls said their statements were recorded only yesterday. The girls alleged that there was an attempt from the police to reach a compromise. The accused is the son of a local league leader.
