THODUPUZHA: When everyone wears glasses on their face to read alphabets, people need face mirror to read what 16-year-old Sandra writes. One can only read the letters by showing it in front of the mirror. A trick learnt to hide her scribblings of poetry and stories from her mother, this plus two student soon became an expert in this.
The daughter of Thodupuzha Vandimattam natives auto driver Satheesh and Mini writes stories and poems from childhood. During ninth standard she tried this trick to hide her writings from her mother and later showed the way of reading it to her. When her friends and teachers at the school discovered that this technique is known as mirror writing and realised that it was not an easy task for everyone. Mirror writing is seen in ambulances.
Writing is from right to left. She is flexible to write in both Malayalam and English. Sandra was included in the India Book of Records for mirror writing in English. She is a Plus Two Biology student at APJ Abdul Kalam Higher Secondary School, Thodupuzha. Sixth standard student Ashwin is her brother.
