Cop’s wife and two children found dead in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: A police official’s wife and two children were found dead in their quarters. The dead have been identified as Najila (28), wife of Ranees and native of Vattappally in Alappuzha and her children Tipu Sultan (5) and one-and-a half-year old Malala. When Najila was found hanging in the fan, one was found drowned in a bucket of water and the other found strangled with a shawl.

The cop’s colleagues said regular fights were witnessed in their house and that he used to torture her brutally. Ranees’ relatives had recently intervened and settled the issue at the office of the district police chief.

The torture continued even after that. His colleagues said a fight broke out even the other day. Ranees who had gone to the gulf after taking leave, is working in the aid post of Alappuzha Medical College now.
