Two youths killed in car-lorry collision in Koyilandy

KOZHIKODE: Two youths were killed in an accident that happened on the national highway in Koyilandy. The two dead have been identified as Sarath (32) and Nijeesh (36) of Chakkarakkal in Kannur. The car in which they were travelling collided with the lorry. The accident happened early Friday morning at 1 am at Poyilkavu. Though the two were taken to the hospital, their lives could not be saved.

Sajith, a passenger of the car and the lorry driver sustained injuries. They are undergoing treatment. The driver of the car is believed to have fallen asleep and this could be the reason for the accident. The front portion of the car has been completely destroyed. The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
