Classification of files for file settlement; action plan in Secretariat will begin soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The secretariat, which has lakhs of pending files, has announced an action plan for the file settlement. All departments should complete file classification before June 22 and should submit a report. The Chief Secretary is in charge of department wise supervision. The CM will inaugurate this on May 15 and the effort will continue till September 30.

Classification is based on five factors: serial number, file name, subject, date and pending reason.The progress is evaluated every two weeks by the Secretary, Office heads and department heads and by the Chief Secretary once a month. The ministers should also review this once a month. The Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department will publish the departmental progress report by October 10 and the consolidated report by October 15.
