HC to consider Vijay Babu’s anticipatory bail plea today

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court will consider today the anticipatory bail plea of actor and producer Vijay Babu in the case of sexually abusing an actress and in the case for revealing the name of the complainant. The court had earlier stopped the arrest of the actor in the two cases.

He said that he had not sexually abused her but it was consensual sex. He claimed that animosity for not giving her roles in films is behind the case. The actor had informed the court that he is cooperating with the investigation.

Vijay Babu who was absconding abroad returned to the state recently. He appeared before the police for questioning. The actress lodged a complaint on April 22 alleging that the actor had raped her multiple times after promising roles in films.

Vijay Babu revealed the name of the complainant through a Facebook Live soon after she lodged the complaint. Following that, the police registered a case.
