MANGALURU: Hints suggest that Malayalees are behind the murder of Yuva Morcha executive committee member Praveen Nettaru (32) in Sullia. As part of the probe, a special investigation team of the Karnataka police will arrive in Kerala on Friday.

The Karnataka police chief has sought the assistance of Kerala DGP for the probe. According to Mangaluru sub inspector, the police have received clear hints about the accused. Earlier, eyewitnesses had told the police that the murder gang had arrived on a bike with Kerala registration. The investigation team had taken the bike into custody, last day.

Praveen, who owned a poultry farm in Bellare, was hacked to death by a two-member gang, at around 9 pm on Tuesday. In a similar incident, Mohammed Masood, a native of Sullia, was killed by an eight-member gang on July 21. The police suspects that the murder of the Yuva Morcha leader is an act of revenge for Masood’s killing.
