Complaint against CPM leader for hoisting flag upside down

ALAPPUZHA: A complaint has been lodged for insulting the national anthem and the national flag. The complaint was against Alappuzha Budhanoor Panchayat vice president G Ramakrishnan. It is alleged that Ramakrishnan hoisted the flag upside down in his own house.

He also talked loudly on his mobile phone while playing the national anthem. G Ramakrishnan is a member of the CPM Mannar Area Committee. The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which is part of the 75th anniversary of Independence, kicked off today.

Many people including Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi hoisted the flag at their homes today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier asked to hoist the national flag in homes and other institutions for three days from August 13-15.
