Flash floods at Mankayam in Palode, ten people got trapped, nine rescued, woman missing

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Due to heavy rain, flash floods have occurred in Mankayam, Palode. A group of ten people from three families got trapped in the flash floods. Nine people including a six-year-old child were rescued. The search for the child's mother is progressing. The rescue operation is led by the locals and the Fire Force.

Flash floods occurred at Mankayam Falls today evening. The incident took place while taking a bath in Mankayam Vazhathoppu region of the waterfalls. The group hails from Nedumangad. The survivors were admitted to the hospital.
