THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The distribution of remaining anti-rabies vaccine from the batch given to the six deceased who were bitten by stray dogs will be stopped and the samples will be sent to central lab for testing on Saturday. The results will only be received after one month. The Medical Services Corporation (KMSCL) informed that other vaccines has been provided in hospitals.

The lab in Kasol, Himachal Pradesh is testing the vaccine and immunoglobin of batch number KB21002, which was given to Abhirami, a 12-year-old girl who died in Pathanamthitta. This lab gives the quality test certificate for the vaccines.

KMSCL directed that these vaccines should not be given to the hospitals from the storage centers until the results are obtained and if the hospitals have stock, they should be recalled and stored in the refrigeration system. These will be redistributed if the result is positive. There were about 1.50 lakh vials in these batches. Only about a thousand of them are left.
