India beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets, wins Women’s Asia Cup 2022

SYLHET: India won the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 by defeating Sri Lanka for eight wickets. India easily chased down the small target of 66 runs in just 8.3 overs with the loss of two wickets. This is the seventh Asia Cup title for the Indian women's team.

Sri Lanka dreamt of winning their first title through the match. But Sri Lankan batsmen could not keep up with the Indian bowlers. Sri Lanka's batting line was destroyed by Renuka Singh who took three wickets conceding only five runs in three overs. India easily surpassed the target of 66 runs set by Sri Lanka. Opener Smriti Mandana remained unbeaten on 51 off 25 balls. Indian bowlers crushed Sri Lanka right from the start. They managed to score only 65 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Renuka Singh who took three wickets was the star of the game. India thus clinched their title for the seventh time.
