Woman from abroad dies in collision of buses

ERNAKULAM: A woman was killed after a KSRTC bus collided with a tourist bus in Angamaly. The incident happened Sunday morning at 6 am. The tourist bus from Bengaluru to Pathanapuram collided with the KSRTC low floor bus from Nedumbassery going to Kozhikode.

The incident happened in front of the KSRTC bus stand. The tourist bus from the opposite direction hit the bus while it was entering the bus stand. There was a lorry behind the tourist bus. In the impact, a passenger of the bus fell on the road after the panes got damaged. She has been identified as Selina (38) of Chemmad in Malappuram. She hit her head and fell on the road a. She was abroad and reached the state by night. After reaching Nedumbasssery, she was going to Malappuram in the low floor bus. Two of her relatives were with her. No others sustained injuries.

This is another incident similar to the one witnessed in Vadakanchery that killed nine. The bus carrying students of Ernakulam Mulanthuruthy Vettikkal Mar Baselius Vidyaniketan School hit the rear of a KSRTC bus killing nine. The incident took place near the Kollathara bus stop in Vadakkanchery. Nine including five students, one teacher and three KSRTC passengers had died in the accident.
