Thundershowers likely in Kerala till Thursday, yellow alert in four districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain with lightning at isolated places in the state from Sunday till November 10. According to the warning, there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state today due to the existence of cyclonic circulation in the Southeast Bay of Bengal. A yellow alert has been announced today in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts.

A chance of isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. There is a warning that low pressure is likely to form in the southwest Bay of Bengal near the Sri Lankan coast by November 9. It will strengthen in the next 48 hours. During the next 48 hours, it will intensify and move in a westerly direction towards the Puducherry coast of Tamil Nadu.
