KOCHI: The High Court have questioned the Governor in the appointment of Ciza Thomas as Vice Chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The court asked who recommended the name of Dr. Ciza Thomas as the VC. When there were other VCs and Pro Vice Chancellors, how did the Governor came to appoint Ciza Thomas, the court asked.
Justice Devan Ramachandran put forward this question while taking up the government plea against the appointment.
The court mainly asked about the procedures of the appointment of Ciza Thomas as VC. The court asked the Governor about the seniority of Ciza Thomas and inquired if there were others with the same qualification.
The court added that it is worried about the students and that no one is considering the life of the students. The court also warned not to play with the students’ future.
There are about 4000 certificates pending at the Technological University that are still not given to the students. The court asked not to repeat such things.
