Fight begins in Congress following victory in Himachal; tussle between Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Pratibha Singh over CM post, central leaders blocked

NEW DELHI: The tussle over the post of Chief Minister is intensifying in Himachal Pradesh where the Congress regained power after five years. The crisis rose in the party after Pratibha Singh also claimed the post of chief minister apart from Sukhvinder Singh Suku. As per reports, more MLAs are supporting Sukhvinder Singh Suku.

Meanwhile, Pratibha Singh claimed to have the support of 15 MLAs. The dispute between the leaders extended to the streets. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhagal's vehicle was blocked by supporters of Pratibha Singh. Activists are shouting slogans in front of the Congress headquarters. The party meeting to decide the chief minister will be held shortly.

Pratibha Singh came forward with a claim for the CM post after the names of former PCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and opposition leader Mukesh Agnihotri emerged for the post of Chief Minister. Pratibha Singh, the wife of late former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, is a Lok Sabha member from Mandi.
