AHMEDABAD: Bhupendra Patel was sworn in as the 18th chief minister of Gujarat. Governor Acharya Devvrat administered the oath of office to him. BJP leaders Naresh Patel, Bachubhai Khabad, Parshottam Solanki, Harsh Sanghavi, Jagdish Vishwakarma took oath as ministers along with Patel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and many others attended the function held in Gandhi Nagar. BJP ruled chief ministers also attended the function. BJP leaders and 200 saints invited had attended the function.
Patel took oath as the chief minister of Gujarat for a second straight term. He won by 1.92 lakh votes from Ghatlodia constituency in Ahmedabad. He had earlier resigned his chief ministerial post as part of forming the new government. The BJP won a history victory in Gujarat by winning 156 seats in the 182-member assembly.
