Modi did not fulfil his promises to people of Wayanad: Kharge

NILAMBUR: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not fulfilled a single promise he made to the people of Wayanad. He was inaugurating the public meeting held at Chanthakkunnu in Nilambur for the election campaign of UDF candidate Priyanka Gandhi.

"Although Kerala requested a rehabilitation package of Rs 2000 crore, the Centre did not provide any assistance to the state. The states ruled by the BJP are receiving the majority of the central assistance. Is this how a government should behave towards its people during difficult times? The Congress has not shown any discrimination towards any state. Congress is committed to providing equal rights to all. Modi only speaks lies," Kharge said.

"Congress has an unbreakable bond with the people of Wayanad. Rahul Gandhi utilized his MP fund for Wayanad's benefit. Rahul and Priyanka stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of the constituency during the time of the landslides," he said.
