DUBAI: Nayla Al Baloushi has become the first Emirati woman to conquer Mount Everest. She is the wife of the famous mountaineer Saeed Al Memari. Inspired by her husband, she decided to conquer Everest.
Saeed has climbed Everest twice. She also became the first Arab couple to conquer Mount Everest. It took them ten days to reach the top of Mount Everest.
Nayla says her achievements will inspire other Arab women as well. She started scaling two years ago but the desire to climb Everest came to her mind three months ago.
Nayla tried to scale Broad Peak in Pakistan last year but could not finish it. In 2020, Nayla climbed Greater Ararat inTurkey, Mount Cameroon and Mount Hoverla in Ukraine.
