MUMBAI: Train services were disrupted after the raincoat, a youth tossed from the railway platform to his friend so that she does not get wet, gets stuck on an overhead wire. The incident happened at the Churchgate railway station in Mumbai.
The 19-year-old youth was standing on platform number two. He then saw his friend standing on the third platform. Seeing his friend getting wet in the rain, he threw his raincoat over the track. However, it went and landed on the railway electric wire above the track. With this, all the trains that came this way were stopped. After temporarily disconnecting the power connection to these wires, the raincoat was taken from there. Train services were disrupted for about 25 minutes.
The railway police took the youth into custody. The video of the incident also went viral on social media. The incident happened when it was raining heavily in Mumbai. There was water clogging in many parts of the city. Due to heavy rain, train traffic was disrupted at many places on Monday. Western Railway informed that local train services have started operating normally in many places. However, passengers said that there is a delay of five to ten minutes for the trains to arrive.
