KOLLAM: Two teachers have been arrested in the case of removing innerwear of students who appeared for the NEET exam at Ayur Marthoma College. Prof Priji Kurien Isaac and National Testing Agency (NTA) observer Dr Shamnad are the two arrested. They will be produced in the court today.
The two were taken into custody last evening. Their arrests were recorded Thursday early morning. Priji Kurien of Marthoma Collge is the HOD of MCA department. College employees and Ayur natives’ S Mariyamma, K Mariyamma and star security employees and of Manjapra identified as Geethu, Jyotsna Joby and Beena were arrested the other day in the case.
Priji Kurien and Shamnad were arrested after the employees testified that they checked after removing the innerwear of the students as per the instructions of the officials. However, the two first told police that they didn’t give such an instruction, but later confessed to the crime when they were questioned after making them sit along with the women employees.
