KOCHI: The Crime Branch team probing the murder conspiracy case is devising plans to find the three smartphones concealed and removed by the accused, including actor Dileep. The probe team has sought legal advice in this regard.

The crime branch is preparing to take a mirror image of all five phones. The probe team is hoping to recover deleted files and other information through this. The scientific examination will also reveal whether the footage of the attack on the actress was leaked through these phones. The probe team will be trying to recover mainly call records, voice messages and chats.

The move comes on the heels of the assessment that the strategically hidden phones may not be produced in the High Court. If the accused produce the phones in court, they will be immediately subjected to scientific examination. The probe team hopes to find vital information from the five phones. The phones that have gone missing were the ones used by Dileep, his brother Anoop and brother-in-law Suraj. The probe team approached the court after the accused refused to hand over the concealed mobile phones.

Dileep's lawyer said that the phones have been handed over to a private forensic agency to recover the chats, and the result and the phones can be submitted to the court. According to the crime branch, the mobile phones of the accused needs to be examined in the conspiracy case. The phones were handed over to the crime branch during a raid conducted on January 13th.
