Chief Minister inaugurates 'Poshaka Balyam' scheme, serves milk and egg for Anganwadi children

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated the 'Poshaka Balyam' scheme for Anganwadi children by serving glass of milk and eggs. The CM said that the government's aim is to mold a child-friendly state. The government has decided to provide milk and eggs for two days in a week. With the help of local bodies and people, milk and egg can be ensured every day of the week. Companies including MILMA should provide milk and eggs without expecting profit or suffering loss. The Chief Minister also said that the government will consider increasing the number of days of providing milk and eggs.

Minister Veena George presided over the function. Minister Antony Raju, District Panchayat President D. Suresh Kumar, Planning Board Vice Chairman V K Ramachandran, Milma Chairman K S Mani, MD Patil Suyog Subhash Rao, Councilor Rakhi Ravikumar, Women and Child Development Director G. Priyanka also participated in the function.
