Director of Public Education orders seat reservation for physically disabled students on school buses

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Circular from the Director of Public Education mandates seat reservation for physically disabled students on school buses.

Following an application filed by Fathima Sanaiah, a student of GMUP School in Malappuram, Kakkad, the Navakerala Sadas has taken action to enforce seat reservation and fee exemptions for physically challenged children. A copy of the circular has been dispatched to the Deputy Directors of Education. While the determination of bus fees falls within the school's jurisdiction, the circular also recommends providing concessions to physically challenged and economically disadvantaged students on compassionate grounds.
