Good news for KSRTC employees: Salaries to be credited on 1st of every month

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar on Tuesday made a joyous announcement for all KSRTC employees. From now on, all KSRTC employees will receive their salaries on the first day of every month. The minister also announced that the salary for this month would start being disbursed today itself. He clarified that the government would be providing financial assistance for salary payments. He also said that the government has provided Rs 10,000 crore to KSRTC in multiple installments so far.

The government will allocate Rs 50 crore every month to ensure that salaries are paid on the first day. An overdraft of Rs 100 crore will be taken from SBI, which will be repaid within 20 days. The government will repay this in two installments of Rs 50 crore each. Pensions will also be distributed on time, with 5% of the revenue set aside for pension payments. Within two months, the pension distribution process will be streamlined. Additionally, an agreement has been made to clear all pending benefits for pensioners within a year.

The minister further stated that 148 KSRTC accounts have been closed, leaving only the overdraft account active. He also assured that pending PF benefits would be provided soon.
