Meantime, the central meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in Kerala in the coming days. A new low pressure will form near Andaman next Monday. The rainfall in Kerala is increasing as a result of the cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. The low pressure area formed on Monday is expected to move towards the coasts of Sri Lanka and southern Tamil Nadu. Meantime, strong north-easterly winds are likely to bring heavy rainfall over Kerala.
