THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Isolated showers are likely to lash the state today. North Kerala may receive heavy rainfall. Yellow alert has been sounded in four districts. The yellow alert is in Kozhikode, Kannur, Wayanad and Kasaragod.
The monsoon is due to the presence of a cyclone near the coast of Maharashtra in the Arabian Sea. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated showers in all districts of Kerala for the next three hours.
The monsoon will intensify in central Kerala from tomorrow. Yellow alert was issued in Alappuzha, Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod on Tuesday.
The possibility of isolated heavy rains has been predicted. There would be heavy rainfall as rains of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm will be obtained in 24 hours.
