THRISSUR: Leaders attempt to prove their strength and defend the allegations before the KPCC committee probing K Muralidharan's defeat. It is reported that some leaders from outside the constituency have been brought to defend the allegations against them in the evidence.
DCC office bearers and block presidents of Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency were called for evidence yesterday. But outside the constituency some local leaders from Chelakkara, Vadakancherry and Kunnamkulam also came. In addition to the poster, the defense effort is being circulated against the leaders TN Prathapan and Anil Akkara. The content of the letter was that Muralidharan was defeated under their leadership.
Some supporters of Jose Vallur, who resigned from the post of President after the handshake in the office, also came to the evidence. It is not clear whether the committee took statements from them. The activists also had an opportunity to express their grievances during the evidence gathering two weeks ago. Taking advantage of this, people from outside were brought in.
There are about fifty DCC office bearers in Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency. The statement of many of the block presidents was taken in the last evidence. The statements of the rest were recorded yesterday. The next hearing of the committee comprising KC Joseph, T Siddique MLA and R Chandrasekaran will be in two weeks. The committee will also look into the failure of Ramya Haridas in Alathur.
