Man commits suicide after dropping wife at bus stop

KASARGOD: A man, who reached home after dropping his wife, a teacher, at the bus stop, committed suicide. The dead is K N Venu (52) of Kasargod Panathady and owner of Sankar Bakery and Cool Bar and also a social worker. Venu returned home after dropping his wife at the bus stop Monday morning.

Venu was found hanging in the bedroom when his daughter went in search of him. Even though he was taken to the hospital with the help of the neighbours, his life could not be saved.

Venu had been active in public life and had served as the former unit president of the Panathady Merchants and Industrialists Coordination Committee, former PTA president of Balanthode School, and an office-bearer of the Kolichal Lions Club.


He leaves behind his wife Saritha, a teacher at Iqbal Higher Secondary School at Ajanur in Kanhangad and their children Shankar and Anjana.
