THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state will receive heavy rains for the next five days due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. The north is more likely to receive heavy rainfall than the southern district. In the southern districts, thundershowers are likely in the evening. Yellow alert was issued today in 12 districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. An orange alert has been issued for Idukki, Kozhikode and Kannur on the 15th due to heavy rains in the central and northern districts in the next two days. Caution should be exercised as there is a possibility of strong thunder and wind in the evening along with rain across the state. Fishing is not allowed along the Kerala coast from today till 16 due to strong winds and inclement weather.
