KOZHIKODE: PV Anvar, the UDF candidate in Beypore, said he is 100 percent confident of winning the seat. He added that party workers have already started preparations for victory celebrations. He said the higher voter turnout in the constituency will benefit the UDF. According to him, anti-incumbency sentiment and allegations of nepotism against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were reflected in the voting. He was speaking to the media in Beypore.
“We have already assured victory. There is no doubt about it. Our celebrations will begin on May 3 itself. I am saying this based on the emotions of the people. The voters here are against ‘Pinarayism’ and nepotism. We were able to make people understand the wrong policies of the government, and that has turned into votes. I will win with a margin of not less than 25,000 votes. Workers have even booked a DJ for the celebrations,” he said.
Anvar also claimed that people in the constituency voted for change and that the results will show a major upset. Anvar said the current political situation is favourable for the UDF and that public anger against the ruling front has been clearly recorded in the ballot boxes.
