'Will wait for some time, decision will be taken'; S Rajendran denies joining BJP

MUNNAR: Devikulam former MLA, S Rajendran denied the news of joining the BJP stating, "The news in the media is not accurate. The party will not harm anyone, but there are individuals who harm the party in disguise. I will wait for some time and a decision will be taken after that."

He clarified, "I am not associated with state and local leaders of the BJP. Such rumors are spread by some secret forces trying to oust me from the CPM. Certain leaders are concerned about losing their positions because of me. Over the past few years, not only the BJP but also other parties have approached me. After meeting Prakash Javadekar, I have not met any other leaders. I am unaware of any friendship between EP Jayarajan and Javadekar. No one wants to lose in a competition between individuals. No matter how many times you apologize to the party, you may still lose."

Rajendran expressed frustration, stating, "Despite the intervention of the state leadership, I was deliberately kept out of the election. I was not given due importance at the election convention."

A month ago, S Rajendran visited Delhi and met with Prakash Javadekar, the BJP leader in charge of Kerala, a picture of which was released. Subsequently, there were reports suggesting that Rajendran, who had distanced himself from the CPM would join the BJP. Rajendran attended the LDF Devikulam Constituency Convention in Munnar recently.
