KOLKATA: The BJP on Wednesday staged a fierce protest against Governor CV Ananda Bose in Bengal. BJP MLAs boycotted the governor's policy address speech in the Bengal assembly. The opposition MLAs launched the protest while the governor was addressing the assembly for the first time.
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari raised anti-government slogans as governor Ananda Bose began his speech. During the governor's speech, BJP MLAs walked out of the Assembly to protest against the Trinamool government's corruption. BJP MLAs also protested against the governor for reading out the speech prepared by the government. The BJP alleged that the speech has nothing to do with reality.
"This is the most corrupt government that the state has ever had. We walked out of the assembly after the governor's speech did not mention any corruption cases or the arrest of TMC leaders," Suvendu Adhikari said.
The BJP state leadership has been deeply dissatisfied with the governor's actions for the past few days. The central leadership had warned the state leaders that they should not make any public responses against the governor.
