Village service made mandatory for promotion to posts of village officer/ deputy tehsildar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of making village office service mandatory for promotion to higher posts including village officer and deputy tehsildar in the revenue department, the criteria for promotion was released yesterday. According to the circular issued by the Land Revenue Commissioner, those who are included in the seniority list should be appointed to the village offices before March 10.

Those who can be appointed as LD Clerks in taluk office, RDO and Land Revenue Commissionerate can reach the posts of village officer, head clerk and revenue inspector through promotion. They must pass a one-month chain survey course and district manual course. The senior clerks who are included in the current seniority list and who have not worked in the village offices should be appointed in the village offices before March 10. They have to work in village offices for three years. Head clerks/revenue inspectors in the list to be promoted to the posts of deputy tehsildar/Junior superintendent should also be appointed to the post of Village Officer before March 10. Their service in the villages is two years.
