'13 years since our last movie but...'; Maniyanpilla Raju spills beans about Mohanlal

The popular face of Malayalam cinema, Maniyanpilla Raju is back again as a producer for the movie ‘Gu’. The veteran actor with an envious 49-year career in cinema was talking with Kaumudi movies as part of the promotion work of the movie when he cleared the air about not acting alongside actor Mohanlal for the past 13 years. Mohanlal and Maniyanpilla Raju are school friends and still carry the bonhomie.

Maniyanpilla Raju:

“It has been long 13 years since I shared the screen with Lal. We talk with each other daily and share jokes. But It hasn’t chanced upon me to ask for a role in his next films. There are friends among us who request Lal for roles in his next movie. Being Lal, it is normal for him to not turn anyone down and those people will be there in some roles in Lal's movies. But I believe that roles come to us if it is fit for us to perform. There is no point in pestering someone for roles. Just see for the fact that I am acting alongside Lal in Tharun Moorthy’s movie. A great role to play. See, these roles come to us, and I believe in destiny more than anything. “
