ALAPPUZHA: Some workers were threatened that they would lose their jobs if they do not participate in the Janakeeya Prathirodha Jadha by CPM state secretary MV Govindan. The porters who load paddy at the backwater area of Kuttanad were threatened. A voice message came out in which the Secretary of the Kainakary North Local Committee threatened porters that they would lose their jobs if they did not attend the march. The procession will reach Kuttanad today afternoon.

It is suggested that the porters who are not CITU members should also join the march. There are 172 porters in the area. Half of them are not members of political parties. In the voice message it is clear that the local secretary is threatening the worker who expressed his inconvenience to attend the march.

Meanwhile, an audio recording of a panchayat member telling the Kudumbashree members to pay fine if they do not attend the bridge inauguration ceremony attended by Public Works Minister PA Muhammad Riyas was released yesterday. Anad panchayat member and CPI local leader Sreeja sent the message to the members to attend the inauguration of Pazhakutty bridge in Nedumangad. The voice message sent to the WhatsApp group also states that those who did not participate should pay a fine of Rs 100. When the incident became controversial, the panchayat member responded that such a voice message was sent so that more people would participate in the event.
