THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: VD Satheesan, leader of the opposition, said that the strike will continue until the reasonable demands of the opposition are accepted. "The opposition wants the Assembly to convene peacefully. We cannot be bullied and made to sit in the legislature like kittens. Debate on adjournment motions is also a beautiful part of legislative work. We won't allow losing that", Satheesan said.
VD Satheesan also reacted to the pro-BJP statement of the archbishop of Thalassery Diocese. "Bishop's statement was born out of the grievances of the rubber farmers. It was an emotional response and there were no other dimensions to it. The government does not provide any guarantee to rubber farmers. But, the central government cannot be supported because of that", he added.
