Arikomban attacks ration shop in Tamil Nadu; returns without being able to take rice

KUMILY: Arikomban, the rogue tusker, entered the inhabited area again and attacked the ration shop. The tusker attacked the ration shop in Tamil Nadu's Manalar Estate. It damaged the window of the shop partially. However, could not take the rice. The incident happened early morning around 2 am. Arikomban was in the Meghamalai region for the past few days.

Manalar Estate is about nine kilometers away from Meghamalai. The elephant damaged the window made of sheet. There were no people around but some vehicles were parked there. None of this was attacked.


It is reported that after attacking the ration shop, Arikomban went to the forest. In the wake of the incident, the people are worried. Arikomban was tranquilized and captured from Chinnakanal and translocated to Periyar tiger reserve.
