Wanted to see flowering and fruiting of cannabis plant; youth arrested for planting cannabis plant at home

MALAPPURAM: Police have arrested a youth who tried to grow a cannabis plant at home. The arrested person is Thazhekkadu native Suresh Kumar. According to Perinthalmanna police, the accused said that he planted the cannabis plant in a rented house near the Karinkallathani petrol pump to see the flowering and fruiting of the cannabis plant. The police have also seized 125 grams of ganja from the accused. Suresh Kumar already has a ganja case registered in his name in Nilambur.

Meanwhile, Excise arrested a youth who was selling drugs to students in Thiruvananthapuram. 25-year-old Gokul was arrested for selling drugs to students by renting a room near Polytechnic College, Vattiyoorkavu.
