MALAPPURAM: A family had a narrow escape from a wild elephant that rushed towards them. The incident happened at Nadukani Pass in Malappuram Vazhikadavu. Seeing the elephant, the family got scared and stopped the car.

However, the wheels got stuck on the ground. The family was not able to take the vehicle back. When the elephant came near them, the family ran from there and hid at the back of other vehicles. One woman fell on the road while running. A major disaster was averted after the passengers went back. No one was seriously injured.

A tusker had the other day entered the residential area of Attappadi. Pettikal Komban landed in Sholayur residential area. The tusker was seen near Rangan's house at Chavadiyoor in Sholayur. The forest department and the locals sent the tusker back to the forest with great difficulty.

An elephant had attacked Munnar Mattupetti a few days ago. The elephant nicknamed Murivalen stood on the road and created a situation where vehicles could not pass. Later Padayappa came and destroyed some shops in Munnar Mattupetti. Though the traders tried to send the elephant back into the forest, the elephant stood on the road and returned only after eating all the food.
