KAS basic pay fixed at Rs 98,044, govt issues order

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Government has issued an order fixing the pay scale of KAS officer junior. The pay scale will be Rs.77,200-1,40,500. The total pay will come to Rs 98,044 initially after adding other benefits. The starting salary of IAS officers is only Rs 74,384.

They will also be entitled to dearness allowance, grade pay of 10 percent of basic pay, house rent allowance depending on the department and post, and general allowances for government employees. Salary will be retroactive from 23rd December 2021. But arrears will not be paid. The benefits will be effective from July 1, 2023. At present, the salary those who are getting above Rs.77200 will be maintained.
