THRIKKAKKARA: In an unusual incident, four youths were caught 20 times by AI cameras near their rented house. Four college students from the eastern region of the district had to go through this trouble. They have recently moved out of the rented house where they lived for many years and rented a house near Kakkadassery, Pattimattam.

The youth did not know that there was an AI camera at the junction near the house. They did not wear helmets when they go to the shop at the junction, and they also used phone while riding. They came to know about the violation when the notice came. They approached Enforcement RTO Swapna to see if the fine would be relaxed.

The government had stated in the High Court that the allegations against the project were not true after they started monitoring the traffic with the help of AI cameras and the accidents have reduced.

The explanation is in the petition filed by opposition leader VD Satheesan and former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala that there is a huge irregularity in the installation of AI cameras on the roads as part of the Safe Kerala project and that an investigation should be conducted under the supervision of the court.

However, the opposition also leveled the allegation against the government's claim that accidents have been reduced through AI cameras. According to the Crime Records Bureau, there were about 4000 accidents and 353 deaths in the month of August. But according to the figures given by the government to the court, it was only 58 deaths out of 1065 accidents.
