KOCHI: The police have recorded the arrest of Dominic Martin, the accused in the Kalamassery blast case. The investigation team recorded Martin's arrest under various sections such as UAPA, Explosive Substances Act, murder, attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy. The action was taken after a high-level meeting of the police. Martin is currently in custody at the AR camp near the Kalamassery Crime Branch office. It is indicated that the accused is not likely to be produced in court today. He will be produced in court tomorrow morning.

An explosion took place at the Zamra Convention Center in Kalamassery yesterday morning. Following this, Martin surrendered at the Kodakara police station in Thrissur, claiming that he was the one who planted the bomb. Martin had also said this through a Facebook video. In the Facebook video, Martin said that had been a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses for sixteen years but grew convinced that Jehovah's Witnesses were promoting ideas he considered treasonous. Martin also said in the video that people like him would take action against this.

After examining the evidence, the police confirmed that Martin was the accused. The police found that the explosion was triggered remotely, and they obtained footage of the bomb being triggered using a remote control from Martin's mobile phone. The explosive device was made using a bottle filled with petrol. Martin has provided information to the police about where he obtained the materials for the bomb, and he claimed to have learned how to make it from the internet.

Dominic Martin is still being interrogated at the AR camp in Kalamassery. Top officials of agencies like the state police, NIA, and NSG are camping in Kochi. The police are further investigating if Martin got help from anyone else.
